DR. JACOB EVANICH
DPT, OCS, ATC
PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Jacob grew up in the greater Chicagoland region and chose to call Jacksonville, Florida home after completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Florida and becoming a proud member of Gator Nation. His passion has always been to help clients diagnose their injuries to provide awareness for what is happening with their injury, then help guide others in how to get back to full health quickly, and then continue to optimize their ability to move and perform without any limitations. Jacob has had a number of experiences and education opportunities that have enabled him to excel in his ability to help anybody at any level improve their ability to move and perform to their maximum potential. He has treated clients for 6 years in orthopedic and sport physical therapy, complete sport internships with the physical therapy clinic for the Texas Rangers of the MLB and with the Gary Railcats of the American Association of Professional Baseball. During his years in athletic training he has helped provide coverage for a multitude of sporting events including the D1 Cross Country National Championship, Ironman 70.3, and with multiple sports ranging from high school to D1.
Continuing to learn is always priority so he currently is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in physical therapy, Certified in Dry Needling (Cert. DN), Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Certified, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Certified, OnBaseU Certified- a baseball/softball hitting and pitching movement screen. Jacob is the lead physical therapist and owner of Optimize. During his career he has had the blessing to work with individuals ranging in age from 5-101 which has enabled him to develop a unique perspective on how to best perform and move throughout our lives. At Optimize we understand that to fully live the way we all desire you have to be able to move whenever and however you want. Therefore, no matter the person in front of us, we want to first make sure that person can get out of pain naturally, and then from there we help them learn what can improve movement-wise to ensure the problem does not come back again. He loves the ability to work in a clinic setting that allows full individualization of treatment to fit what each person who walks through the door needs.
My Core Values Are: Grit, a growth mindset, and service-oriented.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.“ -Robert Frost
I am the owner so I manage the business side of our operation while I am not working as a physical therapist in our clinic. I have had the blessing of working with individuals ranging from 5-101 years old that includes kids trying to improve coordination, youth, middle school, high school, college and professional athletes trying to come back from injury, athletes completing maintenance work to minimize injury risk in the future, individuals coming rehabbing following surgery, and geriatric clients trying to decrease fall risk. Therefore, my clinic background is diverse.
We know here at Optimize that to fully live the way we all truly desire you have to be able to move whenever and however you want. Therefore, no matter if it is an athlete, active adult, post-op client, etc. we want to first make sure that person can get out of pain naturally, and then from there we help them learn what can improve movement-wise to ensure the problem does not come back again.
If I have to choose one treatment that I enjoy treating it would be shoulder injuries.
Something I love about working here is it is our own operation so we get to do things in the way we know is best for the clients who come through our door.
